With the support of the screen reader, controls of the player can be made accessible to visually impaired users. Selected player controls will be read by the screen reader.
By default, the language is the language of the browser. Currently, the following languages are supported: German, English, and Japanese.
The screen reader is used in some of these cases:
- when you click on a button (e.g., [Play])
- when the seek bar is focused. The currently selected time will be announced (e.g., "Seek bar - 0:02 seconds of 60 seconds")
- when you adjust the volume (e.g., "Volume level 5 of 8").
The screen reader is supported by the following browsers:
- Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer: latest version -2
- Chrome, Edge: latest version
- iOS, Android standard browser: latest version
