To set up a notification rule, proceed as follows:

  1. Select the entry "Notifications" in the navigation.

  2. Click on the [Create]-button in the action toolbar.



Now select the event in the dropdown menu, to which an action will be carried out. Currently, you can choose the following event:

EventDescription
Timed video release will expireAs soon as a timed video release will expire, the configured action is triggered.
Video uploadedAs soon as a new video has been uploaded in your VideoManager, the configured action is triggered.
Video changedAs soon as a video has been changed, the configured action is triggered. In this context, changes are modifications of the following video data:
  • metadata (e.g. title, description, keywords, etc.)
  • security settings (e.g. release status, security policy, etc.)
  • moving the video to the trash or restoring of a deleted video
  • video has been replaced.
Channel changedOnce there is a change to a channel, the configured action is triggered. In this context, the changes are:
  • a new channel was created
  • a channel was deleted
  • the channel name has been changed
  • the owner group of the channel has been changed
  • a video was assigned to a channel or unlinked from a channel.

 

  1. Then select the desired action. Currently, you can choose the following actions:

     

    • Send e-mail to address: When the selected event occurs, an e-mail will be sent to the registered e-mail address.
    • Call up URL with GET: When the selected event occurs, the specified URL will be called up.
    • Call up URL with POST: When the selected event occurs, information regarding the selected event is passed in a JSON-file to the specified URL.

  2. Click on the [Create]-button. The notification rule is created and appears  in the list of all notification rules.

    Please note that you must make other input, so the notification rule can be enabled (see "Editing Notification a Rule").
